Low GI & Weight Loss
Eating low GI foods can be very beneficial for anyone looking to lose weight. How?
Let's look at it in reverse.
Firstly, high GI foods will spike your blood sugar levels which then leads to a dramatic drop in levels which in turn is what makes you hungry again after an hour or so. Low GI foods on the other hand, help you feel full for longer and hopefully you won't need to snack between meals.
Secondly, high GI foods cause a great deal of insulin to be produced. And if this is continually the case it makes it easier to store fat and obviously it's then harder to burn off. Low Gi foods don't produce as much insulin so you don't store as much fat.
